First up the hammer vs the bachelor. Pablo looking for his first win against Jase who had finally found a bit of form. The game started very slow with both players unable to rack up any big points. Jase took a 2-1 lead then what came next was a flash of brilliance. A 72 checkout finishing on bull then a 10 darter was enough too send Pablo packing his bags and left the former champion delighted sealing him second spot in the league and leaving pablo second bottom still yet to make his mark on the league with him blaming bad light as his demise on the night.
Next up the bickie vs the spears, a game where mickey could retain his unbeaten run and where spears could stop his losing streak of one game after crumbling like a trodden on digestive to champion belly. Brett won this convincingly 4-1 keeping him in the top 3 off the league after mickey showed some pretty lacklustre darts and letting brett finish with some fantastic doubles. The asian super star was said to be inconsolable after the loss but still left him mid-table with a game in hand. Bret will now fancy his chances and with only losing one match all season is still the bookies favourite to take the coveted MILF award for the second year running.
Third match was going to be a match to remember. Undefeated rock n roll vs scared a you. Two heavy weights battling out for a top four spot in the league this had the earmarks of a rumble in the jungle type game thing. Martin as "Ali" and lee as that other boxer both set to fight to the death. First game saw lee bang in a 140, this was going to set the president for the match with no fewer than four 140's in the match and martin with a stunning 9 darter there could only be one outcome, yep 3-3 it was to leave the crowd happy that they had got what they'd paid for. Money well spent and game of the season.
Fourth match shmo-key vs double top. Well what can I say. First game took a 60 darter high score decider to sort the first leg which went to rich, the host without the most going 1-0 up. Second leg a 58 darter from dan saw him level the game 1-1. The scorer needed to be replaced at this point due to "screen eye strain" which actually made a difference as dan took the next 3 legs to seal the game 4-1 with a few twenty odd darters putting him mid-table and giving him a lot of confidence for his upcoming match against his brother to the same mother rock n roll rooke. When asked about his league position Rich said "for me its all about getting together on a thursday, not the darts itself". Chinny!
Last match of the night was the first family match up of premier league darts history with double top and rock n roll vying for their mothers love. Lee was favourite to take this match, another pro undefeated all season but who hadn't thrown a competitive dart for over seven games was feeling the pressure where as dan had just broke one undefeated run and was fired up to do the same again. The atmosphere was nothing short of electric with the crowd anticipating a tense game they upped their voices to make it feel more like a 40k packed stadium than a garage in the middle of suburbia. The game didn't Dissapoint, with pressure on both players it was a game of mistakes and moments of madness both of which concocted a masterful display from the new comer dan to give him the rights to phone his mum and tell her that she would be cooking his favourite tea and not lee's with dan winning a very tense final leg and beating lee 4-2. Lee now beaten and bruised with his undefeated record coming to an abrupt end, could he pick himself up and convert his draws into wins, god knows in fact who gives a s#@t, all I know is that the young man known as double top has now made the league stand up and take note of his arrow throwing ability. GAME ON.
