York Thursday Night Premier League Darts- The Pat Reeve Memorial - FA Cup of Darts

Words cant describe it .... emotions cannot get more frayed .... tension cant be measured and thrills spills shocks and upsets cant be believed..... but here goes ...... The FA Cup of Darts sponsored by The Brickie and the TNPLD combined provided one hell of a night that will surely never be repeated. No individual match reports are needed as the highlights could surmount the hottest of news, roll over Ryan Giggs, who cares about Bin Laden and Barack Obama while your in England take a trip to Shm-okeys on Thursday night for some real cultural entertainment. The evening was started with a series of group games with a view towards whittling out 8 quarter finalists, this was expected to be a walk in the park for some and a struggle for others but the surprises started early with The Destroyer entering the elimination phase on the back of defeats to Scared and Lethal, Shmo-key on the other hand was true to form with his mind on planet Zorg and worrying about his next toke on a rolie he lost the group games and seemed down and definitely out, all other group games were nip and tuck with Big Lee even showing nerves despite his obvious class and being pre-tournament favourite. Bill came to the fore with consistent darts and a few thought of him as perhaps a dark threat. The Hammer swept through the group stage pumping the air with every throw even terty trees, this man was up for it. Lethal plodded Scared (64) rolled dodgy fags Spears was workmanlike Batchelor got drunk and Mossy showed deep concern for the protection of the Blade 3 dartboard by throwing as many darts as he could into the spongy surround rather than hitting the board itself (bless). The evening reached fever pitch in the elimination round with Shm-okey demoralising deflating and humilliating The Destroyer and along with Big Lee, Spears, Hammer, Rock n Roll, Lethal, Scared and The Brickie he went on to the quarter final to face Lethal who at this point was ringing the Mrs to tell her he had a virtual bye to the semis ...what a knob head ........his smugness was washed away as Shm-okey found another turn of foot and swept past the hapless Lethal into a semi-final showdown with the Hammer who was down to his gums he was gritting his teeth that much. Form was retained as the two favourites progressed to the final with Big Lee showing his class winning the "minor" trophy which according to the rules meant that the Hammer had to contest another final against Rock n Roll who edged out Shm-okey in a play off. This final however did not go according to the form book and Rock n Roll ran out the winner and Pat Reeve Champion in its inaugural event. A great night which ran smoothly and I am sure everyone agreed it was the best TNPLD night so far. Roll on the next one. Shmo-key was the star Hammer went home potless the Destroyer went home sulking Lethal went home to eat humble pie and Mickey went home safe in the knowledge he had done his mum proud and cuddling a few quid for his charity at the same time. Big Lee, we hope has gone home to pluck up the courage to ditch his Mickey Mouse darts nights and join the enigma that is .....The TNPLD
